About me

My name is Emma Heywood and I am an artists and illustrator based in East Cornwall. 

My career up until recently steered me into product and brand design but I have now returned to my real passion for painting and illustration, both digitally and using traditional mediums, such as watercolour and gouache. 

My work is available in high quality art-prints, in my colourful and whimsical style. My subjects include idyllic landscapes, from Cornish seascapes and harbours to the wild moors dotted with country farmhouses, cottages and ponies. 

The Cornish countryside is my constant inspiration. I feel that sometimes the breathtaking coastline overshadows the magical woodland, moors and meadows of Cornwall, so I try to bring a little of this hidden magic out in my artworks. I am especially inspired by the abundance of wildflowers and plants that adorn the ancients hedges in the spring and summertime. 

You will find me wandering amongst the ancient hedges or beside the trickling streams. Savouring the magic that each season brings.
